ReStore: a new, unique, and much-needed building materials reuse center in Findlay to be know as the Habitat ReStore. The ReStore will accept donations of new and used materials from a variety of sources, employ these materials whenever possible in the construction of Habitat homes, and sell the balance in its retail operations at least 50% below retail. Donators would include contractors, building supply stores, and individuals. Donated materials would include discontinued products or lines, misordered or returned merchandise, and construction materials left over from job sites.
Over 650 U.S. and Canadian cities have similar building material reuse centers. The Findlay ReStore would be the 18th ReStore in Ohio and the only stand-alone salvaged materials store in Findlay.
The two primary purposes of the ReStore are: (1) to increase the capacity and self-sufficiency of Habitat Findlay/Hancock County to produce affordable housing for the people of Hancock County; and (2) to reduce the amount of construction supplies that go into Hancock County landfills.
